Current Interest Rates On A 30yr Home Mortgage (7.06%)
Buyer vs Seller Index (59)
Homeowner Tip (Gutter Maintenance)
Mortgage Interest Rates Today
Today, Thursday, January 11, 2024, the average interest rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage is holding steady at 7.06%, the same as last week. If you're considering refinancing your mortgage, the average rate for a 30-year fixed refinance is now 7.25%, which is a slight increase from last week.
Buyer’s Vs. Seller’s Market Index Score
Good news in our Real Estate Market Index today - we're bumping the score up to 59 from yesterday's 58. This small but important change is because mortgage rates on a 30-year loan have dropped a bit, from 7.11% to 7.06%. It's not a huge drop, but it's something to watch.
Why does this matter? Lower interest rates can encourage more people to think about buying a house. When more people are looking to buy, it's generally easier to sell your home. So, with this drop in rates, we're leaning a bit more towards a seller's market. But, the shift isn't really big, just a slight nudge.
For folks thinking of buying or selling, this means sellers have a bit of an upper hand today. But, buyers, don't worry too much - there are still opportunities out there for you!
As always, this score of 59 is a general picture of what’s happening in the whole country. Things in your local area might be different, so it's a good idea to also look at what's going on nearby. We'll keep tracking these changes in interest rates and home availability to give you the latest info you need for your housing plans. Check back every day for updates!"
Daily Homeowner Tip
Take a little time to clean out your gutters. It's a task that can really help protect your home. When gutters get clogged with leaves, sticks, and other debris, it can cause water to overflow and lead to damage. This water overflow can affect your roof, walls, and even the foundation of your house. By keeping your gutters clean, you help ensure that rainwater flows away properly. This can prevent issues like water damage and dampness in your walls and roof. It's a straightforward job that you can do yourself with a ladder and gloves, or you can hire someone to do it for you. Either way, it's an important part of home maintenance that can save you from bigger, more expensive problems later on.
That’s all we have for Today!
